Could you modify BaconReader using this same method?

The same method completely breaks BaconReader. It'll need another method to fix it. I thought it was a better client though, so I might eventually fix it so I can use it myself.

    Instead of https:/www.reddit.com, try https://www.reddit.com

That's exactly what I would have used if only it could fit. You can't make a string longer without moving it somewhere or "borrowing" some bytes from somewhere else and then fixing all the references to the string.

App binaries are not a text format where you could insert a character and call it a day.

That being said, it's still possible to fix it, but that requires more work. If I ever get it working, I'll post about it here.

Looked into it, I don't think it's worth the time to fix it, especially considering there are two other working clients for Reddit.

If you're wondering why that is: this app is so old it doesn't fully use Reddit's API. It tries to load and parse Reddit's mobile web. Reddit has since switched to a JS-based application, so there's no content in the HTML response. Thus the app shows no posts.
