The non-pro Puffin version is no longer working. I purchased Puffin Pro on an up-to-date device which allowed me to download the currently lastest compatible version with iOS 6 which is 4.7.3. This browser is the only browser left which allows decent browsing in iOS 6!

Correct, when you open the app, you will be redirected to a website with a whining bird saying that the free version is shut down.

After using the Pro version for two days now, I have to add that this browsing experience also isn't as good as anticipated: Every time I open Puffin Pro a loading circle shows up with the message "Network not reliable."
I then have to wait several minutes until the app finally starts working somehow.

At the moment my verdict for web-browsing on iOS 6 is: There is no single browser left which would allow for a pleasant browsing experience.

Combined with the non-functional WhatsApp I sadly have to say that I will now stop my huge efforts on trying to use iOS 6 as a daily driver.

Hm, I wonder if this can be bypassed, since it seems only like a redirect. I don't know much about Puffin, does it use external servers to enhance browsing?

Yes, it uses """the cloud"" to pre-render the content and then deliver it to the user.
