- A 3GS in DFU restored using a 24kpwn ipsw.
- A computer capable of running linux or virtualizing it.
Lets say you just got your brand (used) new iPhone 3GS. You notice its on iOS 6.1.6.
You get mad.
You hit it.
You reevaluate your life.
You accept your fate.
You start researching how to downgrade to something a bit more correct.
You come across something called alloc8, a magical exploit that lets you downgrade to any iOS version you want, but you don’t know how to use it, welcome to the guide.
Firstly, if you’re on windows you will want a ubuntu 16.04 virtual machine. Head over to http://releases.ubuntu.com/ and grab a 16.04 iso.
Now that you have a linux machine, open a terminal and install git.
apt-get update && apt-get install git
Nice, you got git. Now copy and paste these commands into your terminal.
git clone https://github.com/axi0mX/ipwndfu
Plug in your 3GS and type
./ipwndfu -p / Pwns your Device
./ipwndfu -x / Installs alloc8
Congratz you’re a cool dude now.
